Beautiful books of all kinds have always been a big part of my creative growth, so in this episode I’m delighted to bring you another book review. This time I’m talking about the gorgeous new volume of the Interpretations series, the latest instalment of an ongoing collaboration between two intensely talented designers.

Contest Winner:

Victoria has won a copy of Hannah Fettig’s new book Texture! Here’s Victoria’s comment:

“This book looks truly beautiful – there’s not a pattern in it that I don’t want to knit but if I had to choose I’d love to try the WestEnd cardigan – it would be the perfect wardrobe staple … I also particularly love the knitted kerchief too!”

What’s in the WIP:

I finished my Vintage Fairy Light Socks in Circus Tonic Yarn!

I’ve been designing a brand new sock design which I’ll be able to release very soon!

  1. I love all the patterns, if I had do pick only one that would be Fast Forward.
    Thank you!

  2. Oh I would do most of the shawls as I have an addiction lol!!!!

  3. I really like the Monochrome Cowl. I have never knit lace and that seems like a great first time project.

  4. What an amazing collection from two talented designers! I would start with the cardigans and go from there! Thanks for the chance to win a copy!

  5. Tourmaline is my favorite and the first thing I would knit from this collection. Thanks!

  6. I love the different ways each word was expressed in their designs. I always admire their work anyway, but I especially like the radiate sweater (a great way to use something bright or special to you and not become overpowering). I also love fast forward since it’s a great wearable shape and fun too.

  7. I can’t wait to get Volume 4 of interpretations. I just love the concept behind this series and both designers are wonderful. This is a brilliant collaboration!

  8. I listened to the podcast while walking my dogs and couldn’t wait to get home and take a look. I kept thinking while listening, I want to knit that. I haven’t done that about all the patterns in a book…. ever I think. I can’t wait for this one to be released.

  9. This is a lovely collection and my favourite has to be Colour Spell. I love knitting shawls and this is so bright and cheery – just perfect for wearing on a long dull winter’s day.

  10. Their patterns are always so tempting! I have a few previous ones in my cue (even with planned yarns). This time around I love Radiate and Side by Side. I have just the yarn in mind for both of them!

  11. I would start with the Color Spell shawl and then knit one of the sweaters….love them all!

  12. Thanks for another fun podcast! The patterns in the Interpretations book are lovely!! I would start with Fine Tune or Fathom, I think….. 🙂

  13. Loved listening to your review of interpretations 4. I would knit Color Spell initially as I love the bright colors.

  14. I’m planning to do the ‘Radiate’ sweater but all the patterns are lovely!

  15. Color Spell looks like the perfect stashbuster!

  16. I had to choose a favourite from each designer – from Veera, I am most intrigued by her Double Trouble cardigan and from Joji I love the Radiate sweater. Such a nice collection!

  17. What a gorgeous collection! I’d probably start with Flyaway Twist.

  18. East or West has an amazing construction – I consider about a grellow interpretation for myself…. Thank you so much for introducing this!

  19. Joji is one of my favorite designers. I love the wishes cardigan.

  20. My favorite of the new collection is hard to choose. I really like the juxtaposition of stripes in several of the pieces but I think I’m most likely to choose Radiate.

  21. Love all the patterns but I think East or West is my favorite. I like the stripes and the interesting construction.

  22. I love Flyaway Twist.

  23. So hard to pick a favorite. I think I would start with monochrome (mostly because I know I could find yarn in my stash for it 🙂 )

  24. I am excited about all of these new designs. Would love to knit the Colour Spell Shawl first.

  25. Hello from Australia!! An amazing book, but I wouldn’t expect any less from these talented ladies. I’ve always wanted to try a yoked sweater so it would have to be Radiate by Joji.

  26. I like the look of the Wishes cardigan. Someone on Ravelry has added a few stripes near the bottom, and I think that’s a great idea.

  27. I would love to knit Double Trouble. I have never knitted with Lopi before and I would really like to knit a Lopapeysa, however my stranded skills just aren’t there yet – so this cardigan would fit right in there!!

  28. Can’t wait to get my hands on the Interpretations vol 4!!

  29. My fav to knit first would be the pullover, little bird. I always love their designs. Thank you!

  30. I would make Winterfolk without a doubt. I have been wanting for ages to make something big and bold to keep me snug in the winter!

  31. So many fabulous designs in this one, but East or West is first in my queue.

  32. What a beautiful collection … I would love to knit Fast Forward, it’s similar to Breathing Space from Vol. 3 and I loved that also!

  33. Gorgeous designs and difficult to choose! But something about Tourmaline is speaking to me!

  34. I love this book, it is joyous! I would really like to knit Double Trouble, you could have so much fun with color in this sweater.
Thanks for the podcast Helen. Have a great time at your yarny events

  35. Thanks so much for your inspiring review of Interpretations volume 4. What a beautiful collection – I agree that each pattern looks stunning. I’d choose to start with either Color Spell or Little Bird …. but would want to make them all!

  36. Winterfolk would be my first choice and it would be so wonderful in the Woolfolk yarn. I’ll have start saving up. Thanks for the comprehensive review of the book and for the giveaway.

  37. I have not yet knitted anything of either designer, but I always wanted to. This would be the perfect opportunity, the patterns are amazing! I would start with the Side by side and the Wishes cardigan, one of each designer.

I love all the Interpretations Collections and would love to knit from this one! Thanks for the chance Joji, Veera, & Helen!

  39. I love this collection. My favourite is the Doubke Trouble cardigan for its design – stylish and very wearable.

  40. The whole collection is very beautiful, but I really like Veera’s shawls both Flyway Twist and Side by Side. Thank you for the chance to win Helen 🙂

  41. I really enjoyed your descriptions of the projects in the book Helen and they all sound lovely but I think my favourite is the Winterfolk coat.

  42. One more chance to win this amazing collection.
I want to knit them all! Barbiemae on ravelry

  43. I can’t get enough of Joji and Veera’s designs. I adore the Radiate sweater! It has the appeal of standing out with a pop of color but also maintaining a traditional style of a sweater

  44. Lovely collection. Radiate is my favourite. Thanks

  45. This is a beautiful collection, just like the other three. I think my favorite pattern has to be the Tourmaline cowl. karenina4777 on Ravelry

  46. Oh, wow, what a lovely giveaway! The coat, I would love to knit the coat. Maybe using slightly less expensive yarn.
