Meadow Yarn

Meadow Yarn is an inviting online retailer selling yarn, needles and notions. It’s a small, family business based in rural Suffolk in the UK. Meadow Yarn was born out of a passion for beautiful yarn and knitting accessories and aims to bring you a range of great products. Yarns stocked include madelinetosh, Eden Cottage Yarn, the Fibre Co and many more

What’s in the WIP?

I’m working away on my Mind The Gap Nimbus self-striping sock yarn from Trailing Clouds following Mina’s Two at a time socks free pattern and am working up to learning and using the Fish Lips Kiss Hill.

I’m going to be hosting a giveaway of the Fish Lips Kiss heel pattern. I want to support the designer, Patty Joy (SoxTherapist on Ravelry) who is undergoing cancer treatment and fundraising for a family reunion. I also thought it would be a nice way to participate in Yarn in The City’s #3thingsforyarnlove challenge. So if you don’t have this pattern and would like a chance to win it, pop over to my Ravelry Group. I’ll be posting a thread where you can comment with your Ravelry name to enter

Absolutely loving Gretchen Rubin’s book Better than Before and her podcast with her sister Happier

I’m curious – I’d love to know if you listen or have read the book and what you think?!

  1. It is absolutely ok to buy a costume when you don’t have the time to create one! It’s easier to keep your sanity and high spirits when you don’t sweat the small stuff! Lol! Sometimes the teachers make it too hard on the parents. Just go to the event and enjoy it. Or make the craft in class as part of the lesson! Lol. Why they make parents do this type of ” homework” when everyone is so busy as it is is ridiculous;). Well. I don’t have kids, but I have 10 nieces and nephews that I’ve been around since the age of 13 ( I’m 43 now) do I have some clue to this stuff. All I know is that I liked how my parents weren’t frazzled like parents are today. Lol. Heck. We need more knitting time, not parent homework! Well. This podcast was fun to listen to. I was a bit sleepy and needed to work in my knitting. I knew listening would perk me right up and it did! I’ve knitted the rows I needed to get done for my next knit class. Thanks for the chat! I look forward ( as usual) to your next podcast!

  2. Happier is one of my favourite podcasts and one of the only non-knitting ones I listen to. I’ve been listening since the beginning and I LOVE it! I’m an Obliger. I’m going to delve deeper into it because I think the concepts will really help my clients. It was so fun to hear you talk about it on the podcast. Elizabeth’s TV show premiered here in North America last night so I watched that. Love Gretchen Rubin’s stuff.

    Love your podcast!

  3. I listened to the audio of Better than Before and loved it. Off to download the new podcast! Your podcasts make me happy!
